We believe this is where La Flor Dominicana really shines. The colorful blends of pepper and earthy tones bring the spirit of the Dominican Republic and place it right on your palate. Our only reservation is that some may find their main blends a bit strong, but there are many options to choose from.
If you have never visited The Dominican Republic, book a trip. The beaming sun and rich culture push this brand to a high star rating here.
Tested since 1996 everything from beginning to end is thoroughly checked to present a product that provides a rich experience from the moment you see the packaging.
This is a medium to full-bodied cigar no questions asked. Packed with a strong flavor from exquisite blends that satisfy your senses and give you the entire cigar experience how it was meant to be.
- Rich blends and many choices
- ll homegrown and quality-controlled
- Beautiful presentation top to bottom.
- Their Selection might not be the style you are looking for.
- The flavoring in most famous blends can be too strong for the cigar novice.
- You may find the price of some blends to be high, but we say it is well worth it

Carlos Fuente junior used his unorthodox blending techniques to produce this Cigar Aficionado 2017 #1 winner that got people talking. Its distinctive shape and unique blend are a fitting tribute to Carlos Sr. who passed away in 2016, and so the cigar not only offers quality come to be known in the brand but a rich history as well. Nut undertones and sweet cider give a full experience that winds back the clock to the days of the company’s beginning and is worthy of the name.
There is a history here that just can’t be denied, and it all feels like a sweet tribute from father to son. Citrus high notes and leather hints blend beautifully with cider to provide a taste hard to match.
The Dominican Republic continues to produce quality tobacco, and along with the Cameroonian wrapper used in this cigar, it’s a winner.
Another giant in the cigar industry Arturo Fuente has an undisputed quality abound, and when you purchase one of his cigars, you will know why. Excellent presentation top to bottom.
We have to be honest that we are not huge fans of the shape of the cigar as we believe it takes away slightly from the richness of the overall experience. Conventional cigars seem to have an edge when it comes to delivering maximum richness and a full body. Call us old-fashioned.
- Fantastic taste and choice of tones.
- It has a beautiful history behind it.
- Presentation and quality guaranteed.
- On the upper echelon on pricing.
- The experimental shape may detract from overall experience.
- The body is mild to medium and towards the end falls to the lower spectrum.

Padron is an absolute legacy of excellence and the Serie No. 2 just a continuation of a rich tradition. The runner-up in Cigar Aficionado’s list of The 25 Bests Cigars of 2017 is the full-body cigar you have been looking for. The All-Nicaraguan blend is as strong as they come and it delivers hints of coffee beans and sweet accented woodiness all from the jungles of Nicaragua. This is a brand that knows how to take the best from home and deliver it to you. Despite the current unrest in the Nicaraguan tobacco market this year they continue to produce quality products and Padron Serie 1926 No. 2 is one.
While we enjoyed the taste, we cannot say we have not seen it before. Coffee beans are used in several blends, and though these are Nicaraguan coffee beans, it still doesn’t surprise. It is a straight-forward type of blend, enjoyable but lacks creativity.
Nicaragua is a beautiful country that rivals the charm of any other major cigar exporter, but it still lacks the history and grandeur of places like The Dominican Republic and Cuba, In time they too shall write their history.
In terms of quality, we have nothing negative to say and believe this is an earnest effort that deserves notice and praise. There is an elegance to this cigar that cannot be stated enough.
This is absolutely the peak of performance when searching for a full-bodied cigar. Strong and full of character the tobacco is rich in every puff.
- A quality cigar with a beautiful presentation.
- Full body and strength.
- An excellent alternative to Cuban and Dominican cigars.
- Taste lacks surprise.
- Lacks compared to Cuban and Dominican cigars.
- The price is not the most affordable on the market.

Once Alec Bradley owner Alan Rubin made his first full-bodied cigar, he never really looked back. The Tempus is an excellent choice for any cigar connoisseur looking for a robust smoke. Filled with Nicaraguan and Honduran tobacco the Tempus lends itself to an earthy and sweet taste that is best complimented by its unique size and wrapping. The wrapper leaf comes from the Trojes region of Honduras and gives this cigar the Honduran profile that Rubin wishes to share with the world.
Price Approximately (Box Of 20) $$
Earthy tones and a unique wrapper make this an enjoyable cigar but there are few undertones to enjoy, and it is straightforward which is not necessarily a bad thing but keeps it from a 5.
This is a unique choice, and we can see why the blend took time to perfect as finding such a unique region in Honduras was a task for Rubin, but we are glad he did it. The Tempus has made its mark for sure.
Solid quality that shows and burns slowly. The presentation is excellent, and the slim design highlights the wrapper, and that is the main focal point.
We love full-body cigars, and this blend surprised us as much as it did its creator as it packs a strong punch that is both delightful and memorable at the same time.
- Unique wrapper and well thought out design.
- Beautiful presentation top to bottom.
- Full and rich body.
- The taste lacks a bit of surprise.
- Honduras is a great tobacco region but still has ways to go.
- The size might not be what you are looking for.

If you have not noticed yet, we are big fans of what La Flor Dominicana has done over the last twenty years, and they continue to expand their inventory that is paving the way in the cigar making business and redefining it at every step. Based on its affordable price and decisive quality we give it a solid 5 out of 5 stars. Even if their lines such as Ligero are too robust for you, there are always alternatives.
